PSHE

PSHE threads through every lesson. The strong link between pupils’ health and well-being and their academic progress makes it imperative that children are taught the crucial skills and positive attitudes to become effective learners.

Our aim is for children to understand themselves and the ever-changing world around them. We want them to leave primary school with the skills to become positive and successful members of society who have the ability to aim high and achieve the best they can be.

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote values in schools to ensure our children leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. The children are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law. The children are taught about democracy through different elements of our curriculum; however, our school council really allows the children to whiteness this in action.
